Welcome to Land Diver Society.

The idea behind Land Diver Society started with something simple: most of us spend far more time on land than we ever will underwater, yet dive watches have become some of the most trusted and widely used everyday watches in the world. They go to work, into the woods, on the water, across the country, and just about everywhere else life takes us.

That was the original idea behind the Land Diver. But Land Diver Society has grown to represent something much bigger than dive watches.

LDS is about gear and the people who use it.

Watches, everyday carry, knives, flashlights, firearms, outdoor equipment, clothing, photography, and whatever else comes along for the ride all have a place here. So do the people, places, experiences, and stories connected to those things.

Because the story behind a piece of gear can be every bit as interesting as the gear itself.

It might be a watch someone has worn for 20 years, a knife that has developed a patina from years of use, a piece of equipment that solved a problem, or something new that simply made getting outside a little more enjoyable. Sometimes the story is about the person carrying it. Sometimes it is about the shop or maker behind it. Other times, the gear is simply along for the ride while something more interesting happens.

That is the side of these hobbies we want Land Diver Society to explore.

We test and review gear, but this isn’t about chasing specifications, buying whatever is newest, or pretending that the most expensive option is automatically the best. Gear has to make sense for the person using it. Capability matters. So do reliability, design, materials, history, aesthetics, and simply enjoying the things you own.

We also aren’t interested in viewing everything through a single lens. The watch and EDC worlds have plenty of tactical influence, and that world certainly has a place here, but it isn’t the whole story. Gear belongs everywhere—from a jobsite or city street to a fishing bank, campsite, workshop, trail, watch meetup, road trip, or somewhere we haven’t been yet.

Land Diver Society is a place for all of it.

We want to meet the people behind the gear, hear why they carry what they carry, visit interesting places, try things ourselves, and share what we learn along the way. Some days that will mean an in-depth review. Other days it might be an EDC submission, a conversation with someone in the community, a trip somewhere new, photography, or a story that happens to have a watch or knife somewhere in the background.

Real people. Real stories. Useful things.
